Course Description:

This course introduces the participants to the basic principles of general and project management. We will look at the various skills and attributes of managers and discuss the activities they are required to carry out in order to achieve their goals and objectives.

Course Objectives:

• Various definitions used to describe the function of management
• Attibutes of managers and how their effectiveness and efficiency can be measured
• Relationships within organisations and hoe managers use technical, human and conceptual skills to achieve their function
• Functions that managers are required to carry out including the main ones of organising, leading and controlling
• Initiatives and strategies managers employ to motivate employees
• Processes involved in managing teams
